The Company
Information Solutions (IS) is growing in
the 'information systems' industry. Its core business is to assist organizations
in reaching their desired future state through the identification, implementation
and maintenance of information systems (such as integrating and managing
information). The company bases its operations from Gaborone Botswana, where
there is a growing market for this industry created through a proactive
investment drive by the Govt. who are encouraging international companies
to locate to Botswana as well as a general trend in the global economy for
more efficient production and increased customer service. It
is thus orientating itself to this market and concentrating on business
and Government customers as opposed to individuals. Given that we are focusing
on a service and knowledge product, our main strategies are...
1. Developing our people through employing,
securing and creating motivated and highly efficient employees.
2. Creating customer orientated service i.e. having the
ability to change our behaviour towards individual customers based on what
the customer says and what the company knows about the customer.
IS was the first IT outsourcing company in Botswana and is unique in the sense that is not brand driven and focuses exclusively on professional services. Outsourcing is a growing industry and offers several advantages to organisations in the IT arena. These can be summarised as:
