Spearheaded by the Operations Manager, IS has invested much time and energy into its recruitment strategy. Criteria for employment has been identified through the performance management system and minimum requirements are high, being Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, a Cisco Certified Network Professional or a relevant professional qualification together with extensive experience.
In order to fulfill and maintain this standard of technical expertise, Information Solutions will hold a position open rather than fill it with the ‘wrong’ candidate.
To ensure the future success and innovative growth and development of IS, there is a Management development program that has the first candidates taking up practical positions currently within the company. All candidates for this program are citizens in line with the Botswana labour policies. Our Motswana Technical Manager joined the company as an apprentice and we hope that through providing support and personal growth opportunities his success will be mirrored by other IS employees enrolled in the program. It is Company policy to pay for any exams passed by our staff in an effort to remove the financial restraint of increasing their certifications.
Information Solutions works hand in hand with tertiary
education institutions in Botswana especially the University of Botswana.
IS has provided numerous student attachments where students are seconded
for a three to four month period. This allows the company to assess graduates
coming through the current system as well as allow them to gain the necessary
experience in the corporate world. One University of Botswana student was
offered a full-time position upon completion of his attachment.
